Altaaqa Global Attends African Energy Forum 2015

Altaaqa Global CAT Rental Power, the global provider of temporary power solutions, attended the 17thAnnual African Energy Forum, held at the J.W Marriot Marquis in Dubai from 8-11 June 2015.

The event was expected to welcome over 1,200 industry stakeholders, among them many government representatives. On the exhibition floor, Altaaqa Global had the opportunity to meet with energy ministers and executives from utility providers of African countries.

Altaaqa Global also made its presence felt on the conference floor. During a special plenary session on the latest innovations available for power projects, Altaaqa Global CEO, Peter den Boogert, discussed the company’s 50 MW rental gas power plant in Cameroon, highlighting how the synergy among the client, the gas supplier and the equipment provider contributed to its successful completion.

On April 28, 2015, Altaaqa Global’s temporary natural gas power plants, with a joint capacity of 50 MW, were inaugurated at the Logbaba power plant site in Douala, Cameroon. The rental gas power plants were installed and commissioned within 21 days from the time the equipment arrived at the intended power plant sites.

Altaaqa Global, a subsidiary of Zahid Group, has been selected by Caterpillar Inc. to deliver multi-megawatt turnkey temporary power solutions worldwide. The company owns, mobilizes, installs, and operates efficient temporary independent power plants (IPP’s) at customer sites, focusing on the emerging markets of Sub-Sahara Africa, Central Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, Latin America, South East Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.
