The 5th annual Zahid Tractor Open Golf Tournament was held on January 28 at the Dirab Golf & Country Club on the outskirts of Riyadh. With a number of star players and prizes totaling SR70,000, the event had a great turnout and was highly successful.
In attendance was Zahid Group of Companies Regional Sales Manager Central Region, Yousuf Talal Zahid, who committed sponsorship for next year’s event during his speech at the awards ceremony.
The continued support from Zahid Group has helped increase awareness of golf in the Kingdom, and Dirab golf course owner and Saudi Golf Federation President Khaled Abunayyan offered his thanks to the entire Zahid family, according to DGCC Golf Manager Bouchaib El Jadani. The tournament marked the start of a busy year at the Dirab Golf & Country Club, with events booked until November.

After an active day on the golf course, the winners were announced. The First Division title went to M. S. Kim, followed by Finlay Graham with second place and Saudi national team player Fahad Almansour in third. George Simpson received the Second Division title on countback after tying with Kevin Hanlon, who received second place. Third place went to Graham Gunn. The Third Division title went to Mohammed Benamar, with David Mlglashan winning second place, and James Kennedy coming in third.
For the Ladies Division, Mi Ra Jung won first place via countback after tying with Myung Ok Hwangbo, who finished second.
Best Gross honors went to Korean Jo Tae Hwan, and Pakistani golfer Tariq Sardar took home Best Net title.
Additionally, Will Richards and Myung Ok Hwangbo received the awards for longest drive in the men’s and ladies division, respectively.
Rami Alsaihati, Kennedy, Mlglashan and Simpson won the raffle prizes of Adams Idea irons set, Cobra metal wood, training putter and a shoe bag
