Altaaqa Completes First Solar Project

Altaaqa Alternative Solutions has successfully designed, installed and commissioned a roof top PV solar project, its first phase in an ambitious renewable energy strategy.

Located at the company’s head office in Jeddah, the project was installed and commissioned by Altaaqa’s Application Engineering team in less than a week, using panels manufactured by Philadelphia Solar, an inverter manufactured by SMA, and a mounting structure manufactured by Renusol.

“We are mindful of the economic and environmental impact that clean, renewable energy will have on Saudi Arabia,” stated Mr. Emad Mukhalalaty, Managing Director of Altaaqa Alternative Solutions. “Altaaqa recognizes the potential of the high quality sun radiation we have here, and we are prepared to do our part to support the Kingdom’s national strategy on energy and climate change.”

Saudi Arabia expects to install 54 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, including 41 GW of solar. It is estimated that the investment will be $109 billion over the next 18 years. Additionally, the country recently announced plans to build solar power stations in five regions by 2015.

Established in 2004, Altaaqa Alternative Solutions is an environmentally responsible provider of electrical power, water and temperature control solutions serving exclusively the dynamic Saudi Arabian market. The company stands as one of the pioneers in providing renewable energy solutions, aiming to contribute to the country’s long-term environmental and economic sustainability with a focus on solar technology.
