In 2012, Caterpillar Inc. entered into an international power projects (IPP) agreement with Zahid Group, which formed a new subsidiary company, Altaaqa Global. As an IPP partner, Altaaqa Global provides multi-megawatt power solutions around the world, supported by partnerships within the worldwide CAT dealer network. With state-of-the-art temporary power equipment and focused expertise, the company quickly delivers power projects of 20MW to 100MW and more, anytime and anywhere at extremely short notice.
Altaaqa Global owns, mobilizes, installs and operates efficient temporary independent power plants at customer sites, focusing on the emerging markets of Sub-Sahara Africa, Central Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, Latin America, South East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. Offering power rental equipment that will operate with different types of fuel such as diesel, natural gas or dual-fuel, Altaaqa Global is positioned to rapidly deploy and provide temporary power plant solutions, delivering electricity whenever and wherever it may be needed.
